The main aims and objectives of Race Relations and Training officer are;

  • To combat racism in line with the Race Relations (NI) Order 1997, support complaints and advise on development of guidelines for good practice.
  • To provide anti-racism training and / or information packs to public and other 
    bodies, eg. Colleges, Community Education umbrella groups, women’s organisations, 
    Church groups, Public Authorities
  • To develop effective racial discrimination and harassment monitoring procedures 
    in order to inform both the work of the post and the wider objectives of the Chinese 
    Welfare association.
  • To support and advocate on behalf of victims of Racism.
  • To Liase with other support groups for ethnic minority communities in Northern Ireland, including NICEM, the Committee on the Administration of Justice, Law Centre and Commission for Racial Equality for Northern Ireland.
  • To support research which will benefit the community.
  • To promote mutual understanding and acceptance of cultural diversity through intercultural events.
